Photography
By day, I am a software engineer. It’s what I’ve wanted to be since I was six years old. I have two college degrees (an A.A.S. and a B.S.), which were designed to obtained to make me a more useful and capable software engineer. I minored in mathematics at UAH as part of my Computer Science curriculum.
In 2005 or 2006, I decided that I need a new hobby. I need to do something other than science, programming, or mathematics.
I chose photography.
To me, photography sort of represents an intersection between science and liberal arts. There is a lot of applied math, for example, in finding the proper exposure or determining which aperture to use for the desired depth-of-field. The science is only one part of the equation, though. You have to have a keen eye and a quick trigger shutter finger.
Here are a few of my favorite photographs that I’ve taken. If you’re interested in seeing more, check out my photos on Flickr.
